Do you consume alcohol? Drinking once in a while is fine; however, if you get addicted to it, in that case, you have a problem! Besides posing different types of health issues, regular consumption of alcohol would make you put on more weight. In other words, alcohol would make you fatter as it played a major role when it comes to depositing saturated fat in the body. Studies have shown that those who are addicted to alcohol; irrespective of their body type, are likely to put on extra fat over a period of time. So, if you are bulky by nature and on top of that an alcoholic, in that case, it is highly recommended that you stop your addiction.

What happens to your body when you drink?

When you consume alcohol, after it enters your body, it is broken into acetate, which is basically vinegar. Your body will burn this acetate before you have stored or consumed any other calories, which includes sugar. Therefore if you intake more calories than what your body requires you will end up accumulating more fat because your body already has consumed enough calories from the acetate which is found in whiskey or any other type of alcohol.
Studies have revealed that alcohol slows down the process of lipid oxidation. This means, when you have alcohol in your system, it would be difficult for you to burn the excess fat that is already stored in your body.
